Euroconsult becomes a ONU partner for ISDR NEWS
Since 15 December 2011, Euroconsult has the recognition by the United Nations in its ongoing fight against natural disasters and emergency management (ISDR).Euroconsult has joined a small group of 14 companies worldwide in the private sector, going to become a partner / member of the UNISDR (International Strategy for Disaster Reduction United Nations), or What would be the same, joining an advisory group of governments, municipalities, institutions, and organizations in the fight and management of natural disasters.
Your participation will support the UNISDR in its mission to improve the resilience of local and national disasters by raising awareness through their association. In addition, their participation will also help to highlight the crucial role the private sector in the knowledge of risk and initiatives to advance disaster management and disaster mitigation.
In the words of Mrs. Margareta Wahlström, Special Representative for Disaster Reduction of the Secretary General of the United Nations, and Mr.. Aris Papadopoulos, President of Titan America - "We would like to thank Euroconsult for the choice of becoming a change agent through his role in the management of disaster risks and building resilience. We hope that you will be pleased with our joint initiative helping to save lives and reduce costs. "
Moreover, the acceptance of Euroconsult as a member of the UNISDR has meant that the company is actively involved in:
- Helping the UNISDR in areas prone to disasters
- Advice to the UNISDR in management of disasters according to the great experience acquired over the years
- Collaborate, both locally and nationally, with the UNISDR to improve security and resilience of cities
In this regard it is worth mentioning that, Euroconsult, through its manager, Mr. Altimis Joan Planes, presented on 11 November 2011, the conference entitled "Resolution of problems in the construction of slope" to College of Engineers of Peru, to show them the slope stabilization systems used in Andorra , describing the experience of Euroconsult in this field.
Thus, Euroconsult again showing, once again, their involvement in the management of natural disasters, as well as betting on a future and a safer world.
