Landfill land Comallempla. Parròquia de La Massana

Landfill land Comallempla. Parròquia de La Massana Infrastructure designed to custom Comú La Massana, the landfill land Comallempla is suitable to accommodate only waste type unpaved.

It is expected that the landfill will work all year long as the conditions of the road, weather conditions, and the Mobility Agency permit, except for periods of heavy snow that closed due to dangers of driving on the access road.

It is designed as a series of breakwaters dry to form a four-level discharge staggered geometry. Also surface water pipes are made permanent (main channel of the river Cubil) or temporary (water evacuation perimeter ditches).

The project includes the implementation of the jetties at different levels of the landfill, its operation consisting of a filling with earth to the levels provided and the corresponding environmental conditioning of the landfill before it closed permanently.

For the current phase is expected to be 110,543 m3 capacity, which corresponds to 132,651 m3 of material without compacting. Currently the landfill occupies an area approximately 15,600 m2 while once the operational phase and closed permanently, this will occupy an area of about 22,000 m2.

The stability of the infrastructure achieved by running:
  • Choose cleaning the foot of the slopes of discharges.
  • Placement of mesh on slopes to protect the eroded lands susceptible to the slopes of the landfill, of the erosion: network type "Enkamat S-55" or similar, which aims to strengthen the embankments and network biodegradable coconut fiber, 500 gr/cm2, such as "C Fijavert" or similar.
  • Driving grooves in the surface waters of the slopes to the water to circulate through the surface of the landfill will be collected and redirected into the central channel.
  • Drains along the slopes of the landfill to drain points where it may remain stagnant water due to the nature of the soil to pour. The drainage area is solved by placing a series of tubes of 8 m in length and 200 mm in diameter covered with gravel and a layer of 200 g/m2 geotextile.
