Its purpose is the generation of plans for monitoring and control of groundwater in order to prevent deterioration of the status of water, ensuring good quality, both chemically and quantitatively under the combined approach and integrated management.
- Designing network quantitative control of water resources (piezometric wells, flumes in torrents, rivers and springs, weather stations, etc.).
- Design the network basic quality control of water resources.
- Designing the network for additional quality control, based on the detailed study of areas subject to high risk of contamination.
- Evaluate the costs of implementation, execution and commissioning.
- Write technical requirements necessary for the implementation, execution and operation of networks and equipment that are defined.
The study has:
- Provide a reliable assessment of the quantitative status of all water bodies and units, including the assessment of water resources and assess the impact of abstractions and discharges in points and sensitive areas.
- Check possible overexploited aquifers and provide the appropriate information for decision-making to ensure the proper management of the resource.
- Check and anticipate the effects of situations and periods of crisis, such as drought and floods.
- Chemically characterize the waters of all the land in its original natural state. Basic control network.
- Chemically characterize the potential impacts that may occur on different bodies of water.
The execution of the work has consisted of:
1.- Quantitative control. The base has been all that information on the distribution of the available water resources and distribution of water consumption, in order to define the network, according to different scenarios.
2.- Control of qualitative aspects. Gathering all the information and updating the existing database (audit analysis, detailed studies of the Department of Environment, etc.).
It has made an initial network of chemical control, collecting all information hidrochemical of different water masses and is being analyzed for each body of water the number of points with chemical information.
It has continued with further characterization of groundwater bodies that present a risk to more accurately assess the importance of this risk and determine more precisely the measures to be taken to prevent and reduce this risk.
3.- On the basis of detailed studies made consists to define the work needed to get tender the works for:
- Drilling and equipping new wells or piezometers.
- Installation of new sources flumes and streams.
- Installation of measuring equipment (meteorological, piezometric probes, analytical probes, etc).
- As all actions deemed necessary for the proper functioning of each control network.
4.- Development of the technical requirements of the work to be performed and the constructive design of the same to the Department of Environment to hire network quantitative and qualitative control.
